Resurrected species

When we hear that species such as mammoths, elephant shrews, and stone dragons are expected to “revive”, we cannot help but feel awe at the power of technology.

The DNA of these species is decoded in modern laboratories, and scientists are attempting to reintroduce their features into existing closely related species through gene editing techniques.

For example, by editing the genes of Asian elephants to exhibit the characteristics of mammoths, this attempt is scientifically known as “de extinction”.

These studies are not only aimed at satisfying human curiosity about ancient organisms, but more importantly, at restoring the integrity and stability of ecosystems.
